Hey, I'm Paul Peery.
Most people online know me as @empeeryal — a mashup of imperial and emerald, wrapped around my last name. I build websites, invest in the markets, run small internet businesses, and drink an unreasonable amount of coffee.
I run Peery LLC, the umbrella for my projects — client work, products, and experiments. Over the years I've scattered myself across a dozen half-built sites and accounts. This site is me consolidating: one home for the writing, the work, and the way I think.
My day-to-day is a blend of building (shipping fast, modern web products), investing (long-term positions and the occasional market deep-dive), and experimentingwith side hustles to see what actually moves the needle. I write about all of it here — the wins, the math, and the things that didn't work.
When I'm not at a keyboard, I'm probably dialing in a pour-over or arguing that the best investment strategy is also the most boring one.
How I operate
Ship in public
Ideas are cheap; shipped things compound. I build in the open and write down what I learn.
Play long games
Markets, audiences, skills — the boring, repeated stuff wins. I optimize for the next decade, not the next dopamine hit.
Stay scrappy
Small teams, lean stacks, fast loops. Constraints make better products.
Sweat the craft
Whether it's a landing page or an espresso shot, the details are the work.
